About
Aston Cantlow Village Hall features a 16th Century Guild Hall at the front, historically significant as the place where John and Mary Shakespeare signed their marriage documents. The hall was extended in 1960-61 to include a light and spacious main hall, a stage, dressing rooms, and a kitchen. It has been used as a filming location for productions like Sister Boniface and Shakespeare and Hathaway. The hall is a vibrant community hub, hosting regular sports bookings such as yoga, badminton, keep fit, ballroom, and modern dancing. It also has 2 table tennis tables available for use. The local Lace Makers Society meets monthly, and the hall actively encourages new arts and theatre groups. Residents of the Parish and non-residents are welcome to hire the hall and enjoy the playground.

How to book
Before making a booking, consider which rooms you will use, and how much time will be needed for decorating, setup, the event itself, and tidying up/lock up. You can use the scheduler to check availability. Registered users can make a booking request directly on the calendar by clicking the + symbol for the required date and logging into the Hallmaster system. Non-registered users should send their full name, address with postcode, email address, phone number, date, start/end times, and desired rooms via the Contact Us form. The default booking status is public; request private if needed. A confirmation email will be sent, and the event will appear in the booking schedule. Making a booking is a contractual commitment. Invoices are sent shortly after the event and should be paid within one calendar month. An additional administration fee of £25 may be charged for outstanding invoices. Cancellation or amendment requests must be received before the booking date and time, otherwise the original booking fee will be incurred.
