About
The Barbican Conservatory is the second biggest Conservatory in London, a hidden tropical oasis. Designed by Chamberlin, Powell and Bon, it surrounds the Barbican Theatre’s fly tower. Planted between 1980 and 1981 and opened in 1984, it houses around 1,500 species of plants and trees, including rare and endangered species from diverse regions like South Africa and Brazil. It also features three pools with various fish and terrapins.
