Downham (Wesley Halls) Community Centre provides affordable space for hire to local people. It features a Sports Hall suitable for soft ball sports, badminton, shortmat bowls, and exercise classes; a Middle Hall for classes, meetings, exercise activities, training, and presentations, which can be subdivided; and a Large Hall with a stage, suitable for meetings, presentations, training, exercise activities, various sports and game activities (no ball games), and theatre productions. Main entrance has ramped/sloped access, automatic single-width doors (88cm opening) with a locked extension leaf, and a small lip on the threshold (2cm or below). Fire exit at the left side of the building (in the main hall) has ramped/sloped access, double-width doors (150cm opening) opening away from you, and a small lip on the threshold (2cm or below. A second set of heavy double-width doors (150cm opening) is also present. Level access to accessible and standard toilets near reception. Level access to female and male toilets between the large and middle hall. There is a ramp/slope leading from the main hall to the small hall (steep gradient, permanent, with handrails on the left going up, width 75cm). Also 3 steps with medium height (11cm-17cm) and handrail on the right going up. The ramp bypasses the steps.

How to Book
The Community Centre provides affordable space/premises for hire to local people. For enquiries, contact Joseph Clements, Centre Administrator, at 020 8698 1464. Opening hours are Monday - Friday: 09:00 - 16:00. Saturday and Sunday: Closed. Opening times may vary according to bookings and events. For one-off bookings (up to 3 in 12 months), an up-to-date Safeguarding of Children and Vulnerable Adults Policy may be required depending on usage. For longer-term 'licence' hire, Public Liability Insurance and an up-to-date Safeguarding of Children and Vulnerable Adults Policy are required. It is also good practice to carry out a risk assessment.
