About
Radford House, also known as The Old Fire Station, is currently open for events and room hires as 'meanwhile' use, prior to full renovation expected to be completed in 2025. The building was purchased by Ramsgate Town Council with a legacy from Mr. Radford for the benefit of Ramsgate and its community. Future plans include becoming a community centre providing access to activities and services, while restoring and protecting the historic building. Proposed renovations include repairs, adapting for new purposes, a new entrance, an open-plan ground floor with reception and adaptable event space (with a movable partition), a lift within the fire training tower, disabled toilets, five offices (four large, one small), a kitchen, WC and shower on the first floor, and two more offices, a research/exhibition space with climate-controlled archive, and a breakout room on the second floor.
