How to Book
For single bookings, full payment with booking form is required one month in advance. A 10% administration fee is deducted from refunds if cancelled. Affiliated and regular users follow specific payment terms, and booking forms must be submitted two weeks prior to the beginning of each term; refunds for non-use are only in extreme circumstances. Payment methods accepted include cash, cheque (payable to 'St John's Village Hall'), or e-banking. Hirers are responsible for all persons in the hall during the period of hire, allowing ½ hour for setting up and clearing, checking all internal doors and windows are closed, turning off lights and heating, closing the kitchen hatch door, unplugging kettle/microwave and other electrical equipment, setting the alarm on the side emergency exit door, leaving the hall in the condition found, ensuring all members of the public have vacated the building, and removing all rubbish. A Temporary Event Notice (TEN) from Dover District Council is required for events involving the sale of alcohol. For catering at public events, the name of the person holding a 'Food Hygiene in Catering' certificate is required.
