Sun Street Community Centre has been recently refurbished. It is a non-smoking building, including vaping and e-cigarettes, within the building and grounds. Hirers are responsible for the security of the venue and must remain on the premises for the duration of the hire once opened. How to Book

To enquire about hiring, complete the Community centre hire enquiry form on the Reading Borough Council website. The lettings team aims to respond within 72 hours. The minimum age requirement for hirers is 21 years (evidence may be required). Full payment of hire charge, key holding charge, insurance contribution, and deposit is required at the time of booking for one-off hires. All required documentation must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to booking. Regular hirers do not require a deposit but agree to cover costs for loss or damage and are provided with two sets of keys. Public Liability Insurance (minimum indemnity of £5 million) is required for all groups and organisations. A safeguarding policy is required if running activities for people under 19 or vulnerable adults. A food hygiene certificate is required if planning to serve food to the public. A Temporary Events Notice is required if planning to sell alcohol.
