Situated in one of the most vibrant cities and best-known universities in the UK, Bristol SU offers a wide range of spaces for hire for a variety of event needs. Whether you would like to host a conference, live entertainment event, or meeting, we have the space for you. The Richmond Building is the home of Bristol SU and our spaces. Situated on Queens Road in Clifton, the Richmond Building is easily accessible to the city centre and other areas of the city via car, foot, and bus. In 2015, the Richmond building opened after a £30 million revamp and now offers a large event space in the Anson Rooms, two theatres, two bars and a variety of multi-purpose activity rooms available to hire. It is a unique facility within the city that offers a wide range of spaces to meet the needs of any event. As a registered charity, the income generated from external events goes directly towards supporting Bristol student groups and activities.

There are doors around the building which have to be opened manually. Gender neutral toilets are available on the 4th floor. Quiet areas with seating are available in the foyer and in the links spaces on the first and second floors of The Richmond Building. We welcome event and space attendees who need to bring medicines, food, or drink to manage a medical condition, or medical equipment. Please email us on [email protected] or speak to a member of staff on arrival if you have any questions or concerns.

How to Book
Applications for both the Special Event and Spotlight programmes are released in advance of each term (TB1 & TB2). Unfortunately, applications have now closed for this year and we have a fully booked programme. Applications for next year TB1 (2026-2027), will be released later in the year, so keep checking back as they tend to fill up quickly! If you would like to discuss your application before submitting, you can book a meeting in with us. For ad-hoc or community space bookings, please come and see us in person on the 5th floor of Senate House or call on 0117 331 8600.
