How to Book

Contact the booking secretary via email, stating your requirements. Required details: Full name, Address, Phone number, Full description of the event (including its timing), Number of guests attending, Date and timing of hire (from and to, including all setting up and clearing up time), Required hall facilities (main hall, committee room, kitchen etc.). A 'Hirers' Handbook' with detailed terms and conditions is available for download. For barbecues, bouncy castles, fireworks, marquees, or similar facilities, inquire during booking. Additional charges apply, and the hirer is responsible for adequate insurance. If selling alcohol, indicate this when booking and seek permission to apply to Bedford Borough Council for a Temporary Event Notification (TEN). Allow at least 2 weeks for the TEN application. Permission is required due to an annual limit on TENs for the premises. Access to the kitchen is non-exclusive. Exclusive access may be granted at the discretion of the hall management committee if the whole main building is hired. Only a Village Organisation may be exempted from additional fees for previous evening preparation (for 24-hour hire) or other charges (e.g., for barbecue or bouncy castle use). Proposed rate increase effective from January 1, 2026. 'Regular booking' is repeated over more than twelve consecutive weeks or three consecutive months. 'Occasional booking' is non-repeating within a three-month period.
