How to Book
Minimum age of hirer is 18. Bookings are provisional until the application form is signed and returned, automatically cancelled after 14 days if not returned. Confirmation occurs upon receipt of a correctly completed application form, forming a legal contract. Invoices are raised approximately 4 weeks before the event, with all payments due at least 2 weeks before. A booking fee is retained if cancelled in writing within the last 4 weeks. Keys are held in a key-safe by the front doors; the code is sent via text the day before. Keys must be collected within 15 minutes of booking commencement and returned within 15 minutes of termination. A Temporary Event Notice (TEN) from Wealden District Council is required for alcohol sales, and hirers must obtain written consent from the Management Committee before applying for a TEN. For Saturday evening bookings, one hour (9:00 AM - 10:00 AM) on Sunday morning is permitted for clearing up, free of charge, if the hall is not already booked. Additional charges apply for unlocked doors/windows (£100), lights/appliances left on (£5), and breakages/loss of crockery/cutlery/utensils (£5). Hire charges are reviewed annually in the spring, effective from May 1st. All hire charges and deposits for one-off hirers are invoiced in advance and due at least 28 days before the event.
