How to Book

Family Hubs generally offer room bookings for community and private events, subject to terms and conditions. Specific availability for South Portslade Family Hub should be confirmed directly. To inquire about room bookings and obtain a booking form, it is recommended to contact the South Portslade Family Hub directly via phone or email. Recurring bookings may be limited to not more than 6 months and are subject to renegotiation. Hirers may be asked to share child-related data depending on the booking type and venue. Applications must state the nature, purpose, content, and program of the event. Publicity material for events may require approval from centre management. The building cannot be used for activities inconsistent with the aims of East Sussex County Council and the Early Help 0-19 Service. Hirers are responsible for the conduct of their group and ensuring guests leave quietly. Premises must be left in good order and vacated by the booked time; charges may apply for overuse. Hirers are responsible for the cost of any damage. Hot drinks are generally not permitted in areas with young children. External electrical equipment must be PAT tested or have proof of purchase if less than 12 months old. Cancellations may incur charges if the room cannot be re-booked. Lettings cannot extend beyond the hub's allowable opening times, though some hubs may be hired outside normal hours with an external security fee (this is venue-dependent). Alcohol is not permitted to be sold or consumed within the buildings. Bookings are not taken for adult parties (18th, 21st, weddings, etc.). Hirers are responsible for setting up and clearing away furniture, and may be asked to sign a disclaimer. Hirers are required to secure their own Public Liability insurance where possible. The number of attendees must not exceed that quoted in the original application. Attendees should park respectfully. Sub-letting to another group is not permitted.
