The Church Rooms, also known as St James' Community Hall, was built in 1838 as a school for poor boys, then used by St James' Church, and recently became an independent charity. It is undergoing gradual refurbishment, including new paint, chairs, curtains, and an entrance lobby. The venue is suitable for meetings, social gatherings, events, parties, training events, classes (yoga, pilates, tap dancing, ballet), toddler groups, Probus meetings, needlework groups, Repair Cafés, community lunches, pancake parties, and Lent lunches.
