About
Litton and Thorners Community Hall (LATCH) was built in 2009. It features a sprung wooden floor with non-slip surface, under-floor ground-source heating, and a fully controllable lighting system. Four French doors lead to patio and grassed areas with panoramic views. The hall is equipped with a loop system for hearing aids, a full sound system with projector and DVD facilities, and free wireless network (Wi-Fi). Wheelchair access is available to the hall and meeting room, with a purpose-built toilet for wheelchair users. The building also has a solar array system. The main hall measures 15m x 9.5m and can accommodate up to 154 people conference-style, 100 for seminars or banquets, and 80 for parties. The meeting room/stage measures 8.5m x 3.75m, has under-floor heating, a separate entrance with wheelchair access, projection facilities, and can be separated from the main hall by an acoustic door. It has an independent projector and sound system and a portable screen, with a capacity of 30. The kitchen is fitted out to commercial standards for food and drink preparation, serving, and dish-washing. An outside patio and grassed area with south-facing views across the Bride Valley is included with hall hire. Parking is available with 25 spaces, including 2 disabled bays. The hall holds licences for music, dancing, film shows, and sale of alcohol, and has full public liability insurance. No catering service is available, and users must use an approved person to supervise their bar.
