About
St Mary's Church in Totnes is a magnificent Grade I listed medieval church that has been transformed into a warm and welcoming community hub, exhibition space, and performing arts venue. It is a significant landmark known for its astonishing acoustics and historic atmosphere. The reordering project, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, has completed its main capital works, including a new stone floor, improved heating and lighting, catering facilities, toilets, and flexible seating, allowing the building to reopen to the public. The building is back in use as a sacred place and will be developing the visitor experience and enabling further community use during the rest of 2026.
